On 31 August – 1 September 2009, a very ambitious and forward-thinking effort was made through the Kathmandu to Copenhagen Climate Conference under the leadership of the Government of Nepal and with the support of The World Bank Group, Asian Development Bank, DFID and Embassy of Denmark.

WWF's Climate for life campaign will support the Summiteers' Summit to save The Himalayas even in Copenhagen being organized by the Ministry of Forest and Soil Conservation of the Government of Nepal.
